One thing is for sure thou.. Heath is absolutely right about the fact that we need to stick together and support each other. speaking for my self, I admit that as an artist one can easily become a bit to hung up in yourself and your own stuff. :)

Frank to answer your question about do I think true talent is recognized. My short answer is no. The industry wants to make money not promote talent. It is our job as individuals to promote talent.

I think you're kinda right.. but wrong :)  Show me a country artist (that have made it) without talent... I don't know of any. are there a lot of talented people that never make it?.. yes! but that is not the same as talent not being recognized. this great pool of talented people fighting for a chance to prove themselves... this is why the level of talent is so damn high in Nashville! if there is ONE thing I embrace and love about Nashville.. it is just that. it makes me better.. probably the best I can be at some point... you don't get that anywhere else in the world!

I can not for the sake of reputation define all the people that have faked their way into stardom.... with and without the help of daddy's money... auto tune is a powerful tool. Its funny that you and so many others don't realize how many people that you hear having number one hits wouldn't be anything without autotune and hit songwriters. And no Hank didn't do it this way. Far from it. Geetar_gawd@hotmail.com, hit me up there and I would be glad to have a private

Anyone knows where I can find a free music player for my website? I have one music player (where my latest album is).. but I have a page on my website for songwriting stuff (like demos), and I need to embed a new music player for that. Anyone..?

Frank,

If you upload your demos etc to here, you can embed the music player on your site to share and direct traffic back to your page. The code is:

<embed class="xj_music_embed" wmode="opaque" src="http://static.ning.com/socialnetworkmain/widgets/music/swf/MusicPla..." FlashVars="configXmlUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fthenashvilleuniverse.com%2Fmusic%2Fmusic%2FshowPlayerConfig%3FconfigVersion%3D1%26version%3DDEP-7008%253A62c5006_42_42_38%26xn_auth%3Dno%26brand%3D0%26logoImage%3D0%26isInternalRequest%3D1&playlistUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fthenashvilleuniverse.com%2Fmusic%2Fplaylist%2Fshow%3Ffmt%3Dxspf%26id%3D6318693%253APlaylist%253A17151%26mdate%3D2011-10-08T19%253A09%253A41.720Z%26nik%3D1nz9cymxg3skj&playlistType=user&networkUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fthenashvilleuniverse.com%2F&autoplay=1&showPlaylist=1" width="300" height="295" bgcolor="#151515" scale="noscale" allowscriptaccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed><br /><small><a href="http://thenashvilleuniverse.com/">Find more music like this on <em>The Nashville Universe</em></a></small><br />

You can cup and paste this or go to your page, click the "/\" on your player, you'll see "share" and be able to get the same code.

It's completely free and we handle the bandwidth so you don't have to worry about your host and limits.

Does this help?

Thanks Brett! :) I'll check it out, but I'm not sure I wanna mix the demos with the album I have on this site..

oh.. and to all of you. If you haven't tried, I recommend www.musicxray.com  It's a great way to get in touch with music industry people.. I've been using it for a year, and I've placed several songs through their site. for example right now Keith Urban is looking for songs, and through this site you can actually send in your song, and have someone in Keith Urbans "crew" consider it for his next project!  another great thing for everyone just getting started (without a HUGE budget) is Bandvista.com they offer good websites for bands/artists and writers for a reasonable price. The features ain't GREAT, but more than good enough til you have enough money to get your own custom design website :) hope this is helpful.
