After seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan I got this crazy notion that if Lennon & McCartney could write songs so could I. I know, ha ha ha. But, being the foolish kid I was, not long after that I did start to write lyrics.
The problem was I wasn't very good musically and I was never lucky enough to meet a musician I could work with. I'd hear the beat in my head but had no one to bounce the idea off of. Essentially I was Bernie Taupin waiting for his Elton John.
Then life took over. As John Lennon once said, "Life's what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." So my dream of writing song lyrics as a career took a back seat to life. But the dream never died. I like to think it just got postponed.
So, here I am today chasing my dream. I never gave up on the dream. Thanks to modern technology I've been lucky enough to meet some wonderful musician's who I've gotten to write songs with, some of whom I've met and some of whomI still haven't met to this day. I love writing songs. It's the best 'job' I ever had.
