Darin “Dee” Driscoll, the Lead Guitarist for the Danny Thompson and named after the sixties crooner Bobby Darin was born on the East Coast of Canada. His playing style brings a fiery energy with a Classic Rock flair to the Danny Thompson Band sound.
Darin began his journey into the world of music at the age of 14 in Timmins, Ontario on an acoustic guitar learning John Cougar Mellencamp and Randy Travis tunes. At 18, a breakup and a broken heart lead Darin to study music in college where he earned a Performance Diploma in Classical Guitar. He followed that up by studying Music Composition and Flamenco Guitar.
Over the years, Darin played in various bands and was fortunate to be the rhythm guitarist for a band that was courted by Arista Records. Ultimately, Darin left that band to raise his family. During the time following that band’s demise, Darin entered the business side of the music as a successful national sales manager for a division of Roland Corp.
Now, family is still as important as ever to Darin and it is his pleasure to belong to the family that is The Danny Thompson Band.
