Darrell currently resides in the Knoxville, TN SMSA but grew up in the small town of Dover, TN located in the middle portion of the state. Jokingly, he often says, “We didn’t even have a yellow flashing caution light, that’s how small it was”. Even such, he’s very proud of his small town heritage. He earned his College Degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.
At the age of 13, Darrell’s father bought him his first guitar. Influenced by artists like Gordon Lightfoot, Barry Gibb, David Gates and Justin Hayward, he formed a rock band for which he was lead singer and keyboardist. He continued performing throughout High School and College and has written numerous songs in his life, but never pursued the music business and chose a career in finance instead. Darrell’s mother led all singing at Church, thus his real roots in music began at the age of 6 singing before the congregation on Sunday mornings. It’s only been in the last few years he’s had time to rededicate himself to writing and recording. After the release of a few Singles, Darrell released his first EP in the Fall of 2013-IT’S NEVER TOO LATE. He followed that up in 2014 with another EP released in July-THE MILES BETWEEN US. Darrell produced three (3) #1 charting songs during 2014, two (2) Inspirational and one (1) Country. In August 2014 Darrell was named CMG Global Male “Songwriter of the Year”. His primary genres are Inspirational and Country. He says he does not require celebrity, and only wants to write and sing the songs that touch people.
Darrell is currently the Managing General Partner at Nash Farms Music.
