Erin McLendon is a singer/songwriter from Durham, NC who finds her inspiration from artists ranging from Jimmy Buffett and Jason Mraz, Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire to Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin. While some would be confused by this combination, it’s all a part of what makes Erin a one-of-a-kind Americana/Alternative Country artist. Growing up in North Carolina, roots music has always been a big part of her musical influence.
She began writing at a young age, but it was a tenth grade history project that really got her songwriting career going. The assignment was to write a song about the Vietnam War and perform it for the class, and later, for the entire school on Veteran's Day. Ever since she has been writing solo, and collaborating with artists such as Britton Cameron, Bryan White, and Mike Marcum. Her songs contain catchy melodies that focus on emphasizing the story within the music.
Erin's first full-length album and latest project, Fire & Wine became a Top 100 New Country Album within it's first full week of releasing on Art of the Mix! It has been receiving rave reviews ever since.
"With Erin's debut release, you won't hear over-produced songs about bonfires, 'shine' and bro-mances. What you will find is Erin's surprisingly strong and deeply rich vocals taking on a variety of themes, thoughtful lyrics with a sparse deliberate production." -Skip Mahaffey, The Skip Show
