I am a big fan of country music and fifties. in the early sixties I was in the USAF for four years and had an off duty job as a DJ on armed forces radio on my base in Turkey. I have a record collection of over 16,000 LP records which I plan to start selling as I am 74 and have no heirs. I saw many country singers of the fifties and sixties at the military clubs and fell in love with country music. I just recently saw Loretta Lynn in a live show in Flo9rida

Hi Jeff. Welcome to Nashville Universe. As a Member myself, I believe you will find it very interesting & feel right at home, reminding you of your earlier days in service while in Turkey, as a DJ, on your off-duty job, & becoming a country music fan there. I can imagine how much you were appreciated there during those days, by especially all the other military personnel, being away from their homeland, in another country, performing their duty as you were, having a "link" to an enjoyable memory & in touch with their genre's of music there, so far away from home. I don't blame you for Now Wanting To Start Selling Your Vast Collection of over 16,000 LP Records, now that you are older in hopes that someone else can find enjoyment in them. I wish you lots of luck & best wishes in that endeavor & "Welcome" to you here. And Yes, I too, saw Loretta Lynn; in her live show at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fl., several months ago, & she was still "Fantastic!" God Bless! :) Ann Powell Mattiuz
