In the late 60s I was with Mercy on Warner Brothers. We recorded "Love Can Make You Happy" which sold several million copies topping Billboard, Cashbox and Record World second to the Beatles' "Get Back". Buddy Good of Mercy and I left the band in 1970 to pursue our first love Country Music. We were known as The Country Cavaleers a unique duo who CMA, Music City News, Billboard and other publications acknowleged in their articles because of our trendsetting long-hair and country style and look. We lived in the Nashville/Hendersonville Tennesse area and were booked by John Centinaro at Buddy Lee Attractions untill 1975.The Cavaleers recorded for such labels as Cutlas, ChartWheel, CSA and MGM. Buddy Good and I parted ways around 1976 and I continued as a solo artist with a string of top 10 and #1 recordings in Country Gospel and Christian Country. I charted again in Billboard and Cashbox in the 80s while becoming a jewelry designers for such legends as Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe, June Carter and Willie Nelson. I'm now releasing songs through Colt Records Nashville and landing on the charts again from the IndieWorld Chart in Nashville to Cashbox and many independent playlists around the world. Mine has been a true expierence with many ups and downs but I'm still here to tell the story.
