Leslie Powell is a native Texan, born and raised in Austin with her sister, brother, parents and 13 cousins. Before graduating from the Communications School at the University of Texas, with a degree in Radio/Television/Film, she managed to get her first cut on platinum album recording artist Elvis Blue's album, Journey, in 2013. The song, Not Gonna Say Goodbye, became a single and charted up to #12 on the South African charts. The same song also appeared in a Terrence Malick produced film, Red Wing, later that year. Leslie is now based in Nashville making her living singing and songwriting. She mixes the vocal stylings of Colbie Caillat with the sultry sound of Norah Jones and ties it all together with country instrumentation. Her first album, the beginning of it all, was released in March of 2014 along with her music video He's in Love With Me.
Musically, Leslie's biggest influences are Colbie Caillat, Jason Reeves, Alicia Keys, Miranda Lambert and the Dixie Chicks.
