Singer/Songwriter..roots, blues, country, folk and rock My first solo artist album is called – “Grandview”
Recorded in Vancouver, Canada, a conscious decision to work with three East Vancouver indie producers, Melissa Bandura, PD Wohl and Jesse Waldman provided co-production and their fine musical chops on a unique electro acoustic roots album. Grandview is community in East Vancouver initially settled by the Italian and Portuguese which was a welcome home to artists, musicians and free spirited characters who live in and around Commercial Drive.
The album features 12 original songs written and performed by Mark Branscombe crossing various musical landscapes of Can/Americana, Country, Folk, and Rhythm and Blues while exploring, observing and reflecting on the human condition and the world as we move through it.
Bonnie And Clyde – All couples will face the challenges to the longevity of their relationships. The lead-off track features Melissa Bandura singing on the duet and playing some very wistful violin.
Sugarland – The restless quest of the roadways is shared by wandering of Canadians and Americans traveling across their broad geographies in pursuit of the unreachable destination. P.D.Wohl provides open range dry gulch lap steel and Simon Kendall contributes atmospheric accordion on this road trip over the next horizon.
Flowers on Friday – East Vancouver in the spring time; fall in love under the cherry blossoms trees on Commercial Drive. A gorgeous sonic stroll featuring violins by Melissa Bandura with keys, glockenspiel and electric guitar played through a good old tube amp with a hefty slab of reverb.
