Born and raised in a small community of Kentucky, known as Duck Run. Shellee’s family had a passion for Country and Bluegrass music. She remembers looking forward to the weekends. It was a time for family and friends to gather to share this passion. It was like having her own Music Festival right in her backyard.
The day finally came and her uncle put a mic in her hand and told her to sing. Being nervous as any young girl would be, she replied, I can’t sing. His words to her, “Girl it is in your blood, you Can Sing.” Her uncle inspired her and sparked a dream.
With the release of “Old What’s His Name” and the positive response the song receives, you can tell who inspires her music. Of course, many of the “Great Women of Country.” Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton stand out the most. Showing a little modern with a flare of the “Honky Tonk Days.”
Music has always been part of who Shellee Lynne is and will continue to be.
