Sunday November 24^th saw Sweden’s country star Hicks (aka Miqael Persson) rounding of the year of major events in London, England by winning the Best European Country Music Act with tough competition from the best in Ireland, Norway, France and Germany.

Collecting the Award at the sell-out Awards show in London was a great honour for him and for once he was nearly speechless, but he managed to thank many people who have helped with his journey. Hicks has been releasing singles to Europe, with all of them charting, building up his European profile. His current single and video ‘Unreachable Dream’ is Top 10 and the video being shown on various TV channels

There were many British Awards and International winners who included Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and for services to promote Country Music World-Wide was won by Scott Borchetta head of Big Machine Records.  All the winners www.bcmawards.co.uk

Already this June he has represented Sweden at the Global Show in Nashville as part of CMA Fest, performed at many venues around the town, radio and TV appearances and his song ‘Cuts Like A Diamond’ was picked up by The Little River Band’ as their lead track and name of their album. Hicks has also topped the bill on various festivals throughout the summer A very good year.
