Nashville-based Australian singer-songwriter, 8 Ball Aitken, kicks off 2018 on tour with the launch of his 10^th album, Swamp Blues.

Impossibly dedicated to his six-string muse and absolutely devoted to his audiences, 8 Ball Aitken’s funky, foot stomping energy and infectious blend of swampy blues-rock, have brought the party vibe to venues, festivals and high profile music events in the USA, France, Japan, Canada and throughout Europe. His slide guitar, fun loving lyrics, and party vibe deliver a roof-raising show every time.

He has garnered numerous accolades, awards, rave reviews and recognition across with the single, ‘She’s Going To Mexico, I’m Going To Jail’ reaching #1 on the Austrlaian Country Music Charts.

“Swamp Blues is a cathartic album, one which I have wanted to write for a long time. It’s my salute to the rhythms of the Deep South, lyrically inspired by southern themes and is my most stripped back recording to date. Of the 12 tracks, two were co-written with friend and 100% certified Texas songwriter, Guthrie Kennard, and it was such a thrill to be creative partners on High Water and Mama’s Cookin’.”

Recorded at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley, Texas’ Hill Country, the tracks were laid down through an analogue 70’s tape machine for the warm guitar tones and cool Hammond organ with studio musicians including Tedeschi Trucks drummer JJ Johnson and Dixie Chicks bass player Glenn Fukunaga.”

With songs like ‘Seven Bucks An Hour in A Chicken Suit’, ‘She’s Going To Mexico, I’m Going To Jail’, and ‘Shut The Front Door’, you know you are in for an entertaining show.
