I'm Sr. Asst. to C. E. O. of Brix Entertainment in Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN, a business that my friend and C. E. O. Rickey Johnson are working to get started up. I'm not terribly musically talented, although I can sing a few songs decently. I've had a few non-music careers, including sales rep., secondary school teacher in St. Paul and suburban schools districts, and corrections officer. I'll be a MN family law paralegal until Brix Entertainment is up and running. I am Vice Chair of Cottage Grove Human Services Human Rights Commission. I met C.E.O. Rickey Johnson through that volunteer work 4 years ago. In the past, I have been a member of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network of Cottage Grove Steering Committee.
C. E. O. Rickey Johnson is a percussionist, specializing in congas, who was in a garage band in St. Paul with Prince as a teen, played for B-rated rock band Jinx and several other rock and r&b bands as a younger man, and has periodically played with several Latin music and rock bands when they came to MN, including Miami Sound Machine / Gloria Estefan, and Santana. Sometime during his youth, he was also in the Army for a few years. For the past 30+ years, he was an investigator for The State of MN. He has been working towards starting up Brix for the past 5 years. He recently retired and ready to return to his first love - music! Amongst other ways that he's involved in the community, Rick is Chair of Cottage Grove Human Services Human Rights Commission.
Brix's goal will be to find, develop, and promote the best musical and culinary arts talent and provide patrons at our entertainment center with awesome live music and culinary arts shows. We will find the talent by having almost daily music and culinary arts competitions at our entertainment center in MN. The competitions will be judged by professionals in the genre of music. For more info. on Brix, please go to our Facebook page with the same name.
Brix is very much in need of additional investors to start up. However, please like our page on Facebook and follow us on Twitter, so that you will know where we are up and running and registering bands / musicians for our country music competitions.
