Tell us about yourself:: Founded in 1985, Philadelphia bike races have a long and colorful history. The city is home to the National Cycling Association's Professional National Championships, as well as the Women's World Cup. However, the race's popularity has waned in recent years. A race organizer wants the city to resurrect the event, but the cost is too high. It would take a million dollars to stage the bike race in the city, and the city hopes to find a new title sponsor to fund the resurgence.

The governing body of the race's route is the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. The event was canceled in 2017 due to insufficient sponsorship. While the Philly Classic and the Arts Museum are both popular, the Art Museum's route uses more urban neighborhoods, and it includes the city's most famous intersections, such as 3rd Street. Both races begin at 5 p.m. and end at the Rock Garden.

Despite the fact that there are many bicycle races in Philadelphia, the International Cycling Union (UCI) did not recognize this race as a classic. It was described as the richest one-day bike race outside of Europe and was ranked 1.1 by the UCI. It is also a part of the America Tour, and the City Council of Philadelphia approved the course, but the event was not officially sanctioned until January 23rd.
