I remember many years ago, I got disgusted with the music business, so much so that I quit my band and got off the road, tried to stop writing songs, but at that very moment, my songwriting changed. It not only changed but it began waking me up at nights, song after song ringing in my head. It was God reminding me that He is in control, not me, and that I had no right walking away from His purpose for my life. He convinced me that this thing we call music was not just in my head, but it is my very heart and my very soul. I got back in and have never looked back.  It hasnt always been easy, but it is His purpose for my life and I remain faithful always to that call.

J.K. ,

You are so right in everything you've said. I'm a songwriter & I felt just like you; ready to quit; but God had another plan for me just like He did for you. The songs just flow now! thanks for sharing all your music wisdom and experience!!! My song are posted here on The Nashville Universe; stop by and have a listen when you got the time.

Well after alot of years and all the money you put into it I see how it easly to stop , But deep inside I know I have hits songs and can write more of them . And after working on a song so long and singing it to some one and they say did you write that it good and see there face you know you did it again. Over time you can hear a studio song done in your head as your writing it and I see the video too of it too . So that drive never goes away like standing in a store and some lady says I just got to get this CD  ..makes my mind go there a song . So I am still writing today after all the trips to Nashville and still learning things too Dont stop there be always one more song ! Joe

I need to do this in order to live.....

Its the dream, we have to do this to live, breath to enjoy our lives. My favorite moment, opening for Hank Jr, and being invited to attend the grand ole opry by an opry member!
