Singer, songwriter and musician Doug Hoskins, has entertained audiences for over forty years with his blend of country and modern country original songs. Although Doug cut his teeth on 60's Rock and Roll, and spent the early 70's playing the Rock Clubs in and around Ohio, in the mid 70's, Doug Hoskins, left the bands behind to pursue a solo act, playing both guitar and piano, and vocals. For several years he made a name for himself in Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana, playing some of the best solo venues of the areas.
During this time, Doug picked up 19 songwriting awards from The American Song Festival and the Music City Song Festival. This along with a couple vocal awards that brought him to Nashville in 1981. It was during these years he formed his style of country music that still marks his stylings today. In the mid 80's Doug, was fortunate enough to have Floyce Kendall, pick him up as his Manager and Producer, which landed him a label deal with the now defunct Destiny Records, and a couple singles released in the late 80's. During the 80's, Doug, co-wrote with some notable writers such as, Jan Dyer, Floyce Kendall, Gene Vowell, Guy Bockmon (Doc) and David Stringfellow, as well as, many songs of his own.
Now with the rising interest in INDIE ARTISTS, and a chance to compete in this market, Doug, has come out of retirement to take a chance to have his music heard and enjoyed, and has garnered Fan support and national rankings with his music once again. Recently moving back to Nashville, Doug's ready to throw himself back into music again and find a new market for his work, and concentrate on writing and recording again!
He invites you to listen to his songs. They are just a taste of the music this artist performs
