- Katie Korfman began her musical life when her mother signed her up for violin lessons, but found it wasn’t really her thing. She was ready to throw in the towel, but by a stroke of luck at age 10, she found her life- long passion. “My parents threw me in a fiddle class and ever since then I was playing every day, all day,” she laughs. She enjoys the country and blue-grass genres, but she also branches out into blues, jazz and rock. These days along performing with the Danny Thompson band and a few other area groups, the 21- year old also teaches out of her own studio. Although she’s the newest member of the Danny Thompson Band, Katie feels right at home
