Originally from Tatamagouche Nova Scotia Paul has been playing music now for over 20 years. His style of playing is a combination of Jerry Lee Lewis, Sir Elton John, and Ronnie Milsap as well as many other greats that have all influenced him over the years.
It was this style of piano playing that Nashville recording artist Paul Dwayne was looking for when he auditioned Paul and later hired him to join the act.
He has played all over North America and received a trail blazer nomination at the King Eagle awards in Nashville for his songwriting and musical abilities.
When he returned to Canada he was asked to audition for Canadian recording artist Denise Murray where he stayed for the remainder of that year before finishing up in the fall of 2001.
After taking from a break from the industry Paul has returned with new goals and new material. It was November of 2010 that Paul started the recording of a full length cd.
The choices were many when it came to which producer would be the right fit but for the style and sound Paul was looking for it was no surprise that he decided on Feswick Productions. (www.Feswick Production.com)
Tim Feswick as well as being a producer, engineer and studio owner is also one of the many talented musicians playing on the new album.
The Players include JP Cormier on the fiddle and mandolin, Tim Feswick on the electric and acoustic guitars as well as the bass, dobro, percussion and harmonies. Shane Hatt on drum, Bob MacDonald on the pedal steel ,Lacey Huntley harmonies, and of corse Paul Randy Mingo on the piano and vocals.
All of the songs on the album are written by Paul and stem from all of his travels over the years as well as his life experiences. It is a mix of traditional country with some new ideas thrown in for good measure.
The release date for the album will be in the first half of 2011 and Paul will be promoting the album at his shows as he tours the Maritime Provinces.
