Shelby Lock is an eighteen-year-old composer, pianist, music producer, and audio engineer. Hailing from the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, Shelby moved to Nashville in the fall of 2013 to attend college and to take the next step in her career.
Selected by the GRAMMY Foundation as an audio engineer for both the Los Angeles and New York sessions of GRAMMY Camp 2012, Lock is the founder of Xenith Studios, a home-based recording/mixing studio. She has produced, arranged, and mixed several commercial projects and is always looking for new artists to collaborate with.
Although Shelby loves producing and helping other artists' music reach its full potential, she is a composer and artist herself. In the summer of 2013, she released her debut solo piano album Airborne, featuring several of her original piano compositions. She recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered the album alone during her senior year of high school. Airborne can be heard at https://soundcloud.com/shelbylock/sets/airborne
She is currently working on her second solo piano album, interning at a local studio, playing in various bands, producing albums and demos for several artists, and also pursuing a degree in Audio Engineering and in Music Composition. She aspires to become a top producer in the music industry someday as well as to compose music for film and TV.
