Country is dead!?!?

Lately I've been noticing that most crowds at the venues I've been playing would rather hear modern rock than country.  Has anyone else run into this?  I mean...this is Nashville for crying out loud!!!  People would rather hear a band cover Garbage or Journey more than Buck Owens or Ray Price.  What the #$@*!

 

Honestly, that little corner on lower Broad (Roberts, Laylas, etc.) is the only place where the crowd really wants country music.  Pretty ironic and funny if you ask me.  I moved here to play this music and most places don't want it...ARGHH!  If I hear another band play a Guns and Roses song at a honky tonk downtown I'm going to drown myself in a bottle of Jack.

 

I guess I should just focus on my own stuff.  Thanks for letting me vent...now I'm off to play another weird show!

I have recently had the same problem!  However, my solution is to alternate Rock/POP and Country.  I am able to fit my songs in and everyone appears to be happy.
