I recently posted a link on The NashvilleUniverse about a podcast I was asked to do about The Art of Networking. I hope some of you had a chance to listen because it's the most important part of your business!
What we do here when we talk to each other and support each other IS actually Networking. Taking it a step further is when you actually meet someone you've been networking with online.
Something happened last week that drives home the importance of Networking - and I want to share it.
I have no idea who the first person I "friended" on Twitter was when I first went public 2 years ago. I remember it was a radio station in Nashville.
I friended some of their friends, and met Bobby Bittle, a member here. He turned me on to TheNashUn. Bobby and I got close and collaborate thru emails.
By finding TheNashUN, I met Bret and Mike, 2 guys who go out of their way to help us.
TheNashUn turned me on to Kelly Lynne, another member here, who turned me onto her guitarist Jonathan Q, who came to Vegas and we became friends. I wanted him to play guitar on the track we're doing now, but he had to move to Sacramento.
She also turned me onto Butterflies Radio, and I friended the host Mark, who lives in Florida. He came out to Vegas over the holidays and I gave him the VIP tour.
I just moved to FL 2 weeks ago and got a call from him. They're organizing an Indie Music Festival in Hollywood, FL... would I like to play? He's even setting me up for a day so I can go down and check out the venue.
I also friended Volary due to Butterflies radio - a San Francisco singer - who came to Vegas and DOES sing backup on our next song!
If you followed that, I'm playing an indie festival in Hollywood FL next February solely because I "talk" to people online. THAT'S the power of NETWORKING.
And... since a lot of you are based in the South, if anyone wants to play in FL in February, please let me know!
All My Best,
