Tell us about yourself:: Hi, I am a singer songwriter based in Hartford Ct. I do mostly edgy original country music.
Description
I basically tell stories of real set simple music that I write myself. Most are based on real people or real events. Nothing about me is fact phony or manufactured. I am my music. I was born in Springfield Mass. in summer of 63. The man the the myth the legend grows from there. For me the music started by working at the old West Hartford Agora Ballroom. (5000 seat concert hall) Being on working side drew to want to get into the music. I began to learn to play.... (to impress a woman who wasn't interested) Through my long term friend Mark Barrett I began to learn guitar in 1988. Less than month later I was put on the Stage at Barnum’s Cafe in Middletown, Ct. Where drunk I played Sweet Home Alabama and Knocking on heavens door really badly. My first co-written song came about in early 1989. Followed by my first solo written song “Hey Little Lady”. I continued my music education as performing arts minor at Trinity College in Hartford, Ct.
I began performing as a solo act in 2003 and around the USA East of the Mississippi River.... I love being on stage.... makes me feel alive. If your wonder about P-E-Z is my initials ... Paul Edward Zukowski is my actual the name.... When I was little kid I remember all country stars have their name inlayed in there fret boards. On my birthday in 1989 I bought a brand new Ovation Thunderbolt which had a plain fret board. I knew I could not have my full name inlayed. I was going to have first name inlayed. When I got to the factory I only had enough money for 3 letters. So I did my intials I have been P-E-Z ever since.
I tend walk around with interesting stories. For example I am Pinup for woman in prison.... 100% true here the song about it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8juoxajWh8Q They are true stories, just odd things seem to happen around me. While it its not quite true that my mere my presence on the block can induce spontaneous human combustion in men or spontaneous pregnancy woman but it can happen from 10 feet away.... so beware!!! If you like witty story songs with a bit o tongue in cheek attitude check my stuff out.
In 2008 I played at Marion Country Music festival in Marion S.C. with Headliner that included Hank Williams Jr. (a dream come true) Lynard Skynard, Gretchen Wilson, Sugarland, James Otto,
Also in September of 2008 I took part in Ovation’s Roundback Revolution Road Show in Barrington New Jersey. My video in the most viewed on theovationguitars youtube channel. There are over 65,000 view in 190 different nations around the world.
I took my first trip to Nashville in July of 2013 playing many legendary venues including The Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, Bobby Idle Hour The Commodore Grille and others. I made my first trip to see the Grand Ole Opry at Opry House. Standing in the circle was electrifying experience during the post show tour . I got my pre booked appearance at the Commodore for Nov. 2013. I also toured the Ryman a place I remember from watching the Johnny Cash Show as a child. I used their sound booth to record 2 demos. I also joined the Nashville Songwriter Association International on advice of other writers I met. Upon my return in addition to my booking I also attended CMA Awards show at Bridgestone Center. That followed by the surreal experience of being asked to attend The Grand Ole Opry by a MEMBER of the Grand Ole Opry. My trip had to be extended. I saw the Opry at Ryman. I also played on VRadio Showcase live from Daisy Dukes. I was introduced to Nashville Universe. I will be returning to Nashville in Feb. of 2014. I also became an ASCAP writer and publisher in Nov of 2013.

Day 3 in Nashville

4 years ago today, I went to the Commodore Grille with every intention of playing. I was there early. I was first person signed up. So 4 years ago today... I lefts Knights Inn and went to thew Country Music Hall of Fame. I took the RCA Studio B tour.

4 years ago yesterday , I just got off at the Nashville Greyhound Terminal. Checked into Knights Inn on Spring street. It was a Sunday. I took a cab to the Commodore and had a steak dinner and glass of Glenfiddich. I met Debi Champion for the first time. Well I have been in Nashville 1 Year

Over the last year, I performed my music 85 times in Nashville .... Started to get regular from ASCAP. Worked on a major prime time Network TV Drama 8 times......... Was in room an Oscar winner twice.
