It was a Square Dance I will never forget. As soon as I walked into the dancehall, a very old man in his 80’s, asked me to dance. I noticed a gold ring on his finger. I told him, I didn’t know how to Square Dance. He assured me he would show me. With that we proceeded to dance. He twirled me around and my long hair draped his arm. When we danced, it was like we had danced for years. He kept me there for a couple of sets. Finally, he took me back to my table and when I sat down he thanked me for the dance and said to me, “You have given me 30 years of my life back.” I told him, it was my pleasure and thanked him too. It seemed that I resembled his wife and I thought she must have passed away a long time ago. I felt that he was dancing with her. It was the feeling in his hands and the smile on his face, I won’t forget. Follow me at www.almasibley.com
